There are different types of holidays. Whether you’re backpacking, staying in a resort or exploring historical locations, they all have the same purpose. Holidays are meant to be our getaway from stress and bad weather but if you have any of the phobias on this list, it might just be a getaway to hell for you. Hodophobia/Fear of travelling Hodophobia is the fear of travelling altogether. If you have this phobia, cars, trains and even bicycles probably aren’t your favourite things. This makes a life for homophobes much more limited. They may have never left their country or in extreme cases, their town. Thalassophobia/Fear of the ocean If you have this phobia, you can probably manage to look at the ocean but wouldn’t dare enter it. Thalassophobia hate that they don’t know exactly what’s lurking in the water and there’s also the possibility of drowning under the waves. Acrophobia/Fear of heights On holiday, you might find you have to cross a bridge at a great height and plenty of hikers making their way to the peaks of mountains to admire the view. Acrophobes would be missing out on a bunch of experiences which can be good for them simply because they let their thoughts and fears control them. Fear of flying Unless you plan on driving, you can’t have a holiday without getting on a plane. There are many people who think themselves into this phobia even though statistically, it is the safest mode of transport. This may seem untrue as the other modes don’t make you sit through a compulsory safety demonstration with leaflets to follow. Wherever it is that you want to travel to, make sure you live out all the experiences you can by not letting your phobias control you. Instead, get rid of them altogether and travel the world in peace. Start by clicking here to learn more.
