Generalised Anxiety Disorder & Panophobia

What is Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)?

Generalised Anxiety Disorder ,or similarly, 'Panophobia' is a condition where a person feels an abnormal amount of worry, stress and anxiety from a number of different situations and triggers instead of one specific trigger. Panophobia technically means the fear of everything and is Greek in origin, 'panto' means all or everything in Greek and 'phobia' means to dread or to fear.

Generalised Anxiety Disorder is called (GAD) for short.  GAD and Panophobia are almost the same thing however, Panophobia would be characterised more by fearing everything  especially the unknown and GAD would be characterised more about feeling anxious about everything.  GAD is often inherited where as with all phobias, Panophobia is a learned. However, both often  lead to the same detrimental emotional reactions and life consequences.
Can I Be Cured?

Interesting Fact:

GAD is fairly common in the UK, affecting up to 5% of the population, more woman than men and is most common in the age range of 35 to 59. Panophobia is usually the result of a combination of several different phobias.

Causes of Generalised Anxiety Disorder:

It is hard to pinpoint where Generalised Anxiety Disorder/Panophobia came from as there is no one particular trigger. It can be a range of different factors including:

Genetics and an imbalance of chemicals in the brain such as noradrenalin or serotonin  that directly involves and controls moods and emotions. Also an over activity in the brain in the area of emotions and behaviour could also be a factor. GAD is easily inherited and you are 5 times more likely to have it if your parents or another relative has it.

If someone has a drinking or drug problem this could also cause such imbalances/problems within the brain to manifest these conditions.
Traumatic experiences such as serious injuries, losing loved ones, abuse, bullying etc can also be a big contributing factor as well as any long term health condition that causes a lot of extended pain and suffering.

It can be learned from a parent or other people who are close to the individual suffering from it, especially in the case of Panophobia.
Media scaremongering tactics can also feed into people's paranoia and perception of the world being a dangerous place  that is always something to fear. Social media can also make people feel stressed and worried in new ways that previous generations didn't have to worry about. The constant comparing and confrontation of how other people are projecting their lives causes a lot of mental anguish for many people and can certainly feed into Generalised Anxiety Disorder/Panophobia.

Sometimes it is difficult for medical professionals to find a root cause for these disorders and can seem to develop for no apparent reason.

Generalised Anxiety Disorder Symptoms:

Someone with Generalised Anxiety Disorder/Panophobia will have abnormal levels of anxiousness and fear that can manifest in several other disorders like depression, Schizophrenia, panic disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder, etc. People suffering from these disorders often appear very fragile and emotionally sensitive. They will tend to overthink everything and see the negatives instead of the positives. They appear to be looking for the potential bad in everything instead of the good. Often they will have very low self esteem.

Often people suffering with Generalised Anxiety Disorder/Panophobia will be isolated and refuse to leave the house as they create a safe 'bubble' at home in an environment they feel they can control. The unexpected or change is too overwhelming so it is easier for them to just stay home even if they are desperate for human contact. They often make a lot of excuses to not come out.

Others may make effort to live fairly normal lives however, they are never fully relaxed and become easily agitated and stressed over many things. They may struggle to keep friends because of regular emotional outbursts or panic attacks.

Symptoms may include:

  1. Rapid heart rate
  2. Dizziness
  3. Screaming
  4. Hysteria
  5. Hyperventilating
  6. Feeling of choking
  7. Fainting
  8. Trembling and/or sweating
  9. Crying
  10. Nausea or other gastrointestinal distress

Why I Should Get Treated:

This disorder literally causes most of your life to be spend in anxiety, fear, stress and dread as almost anything could become a trigger. This could have huge consequences on every aspect of life including work and career opportunities, friendships and relationships, travel and hobbies and most worryingly, even physical health depending on how the disorder is affecting someone.

Generalised Anxiety Disorder/Panophobia will limit life in a multitude of ways and is a serious mental health condition. Treatment should be sought to help manage anxiety levels.

Why See The Phobia Guru For Treatment:

I am often able to help people break free of their phobia in just one session, using the scientifically proven power of hypnotherapy combined with NLP and an immersive therapy option. My therapy skillfully combines these techniques uniquely to create the most powerful, effective and quickest way to beat a phobia.  You will be in the hands of a trained phobia expert who will help you transform your mind and liberate yourself from even the most extreme fears.

Hypnotherapy is so effective with phobias because it tackles the underlying trigger of the phobia within the subconscious. Once a person has access to their subconscious they can eliminate their conditioned response to the stimulus. So instead of treating just the symptoms, hypnotherapy can heal the source for a lasting result. The best part about hypnotherapy and phobias is that often it only takes one session to completely get over the phobia so you do not have to spend a lot of money on continual treatment. The NHS also promotes hypnotherapy as an effective treatment for phobias.

As someone that suffered from GAD myself I know that even breaking just one phobia can start a chain reaction to be free of anxiety. Click the button below to learn more about my 7 Day Phobia Removal System.
